A Letter to Jason Mraz

Dear Mr. Mraz,

You may not remember me, but we've actually met before! We sang a duet together on the set of Sesame Street!

That's me there on the left.

I had to work there to pay for all those Photoshop classes.

Anyway, I just wanted to send you a quick note and thank you. For some inexplicable reason, you music has had a profound impact on my life. When I first met Nicole, we actually didn't get along that great. We kinda bugged each other. Like a lot.

One of the first civil conversations we ever had was about your song, The Remedy. We both really liked the song. I'm not saying our friendship was based on that song or anything, but that was one of the first real conversations we had and it made it a lot easier for us to hang out.

So we started hanging out and she was there for me during some rough times. We got to be pretty good friends and  wondered why I couldn't find a girl like that to date. This made me wonder, why not ask her out?

I have to admit, though, that I was scared. What if she said no, what if it ruined our friendship, made things awkward, etc. So I was driving to work one day and the radio played your sing, I'm Yours. I heard those lines,
"So I won't hesitate no more, no more.
It cannot wait, I'm sure.
There's no need to complicate, our time is short.
This is our fate, I'm yours."
I'm not sure I believe in "fate", but I felt like I was supposed to end up with this girl and I was just fighting the inevitable. So I decided not to hesitate, not to be scared, just accept my fate. I was hers. So I asked her out.

About a year and a half later we were married.

Earlier this year, you released a song called I Won't Give Up.

We listen to this song often on bad days, which are common for newlyweds, and it always makes us feel better. Thank you for that.

I'm so lucky I'm in love with my best friend.

-Cristofer

P.S.

Look at that handsome devil.
